Halloween Draft Pick
A kid's first Halloween is an event they will remember for the rest of their lives... no, that isn't right. Well, they probably won't remember it at all, but I will, so it better be a good one.
We've been in Ocean City with Grammo and Grampo, and decided to find the perfect baby's first Halloween costume at the outlets in Rehobeth. I knew it would be fun, but I had no idea I would be bursting out laughing every time Niall tried on a different costume in the changing room. I also didn't expect Niall to cooperate as much as he did.
Every day, it's like trying to tame a wild boar, changing his diaper and clothes. But yesterday was different. It was like he knew that we were doing something fun, and it would be worth staying still for a second. Putting on these giant, blimpy, puffy balloon suits was suddenly no problem. He was smiling and laughing, too!
Making the cut was really tough. I immediately fell in love with the teddy bear, but I had a feeling it wasn't going to be manly enough for daddy. Then, the spider suit had these really cool legs coming off of it, but the head piece wasn't as fun. I think as soon as we put the martian costume on, we knew the deal was sealed. Those little nubs coming off the side of his head with the big googly eyes were just too much.
Good thing we were worried about picking the most boyish costume, since Niall was completely intrigued by the 4 gay guys drinking hot pink cosmos across from us at dinner afterward- just smiling and laughing and staring. Oh boy, we won't tell daddy ;)

Halloweens are so much fun with our wee girl (now just turned two). The first year she was only a few months old, but it didn't stop us from dressing her up. LOL. Love the photos. Too cute. Thanks for stopping by my blog, btw. I'm following you on Networked Blogs and Google FC. Have a wonderful weekend!

ReplyDeleteIs that your Dad? Was he ever a teacher in Leicester, MA? He looks just like teacher I had in school.
ReplyDeleteThat's funny- yes, he's my dad, but he's never lived anywhere besides Chicago, Virginia Beach and Maryland. I think everyone has a twin somewhere out there ;)
ReplyDeleteLove them all.
ReplyDeleteHi! Stopping by from MBC. Great blog.
Have a nice day!
Hi again! I'm now following your very lovely blog.
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday!
Halloween is so fun!! I can't wait! He is so adorable in those costumes, love the martian one. Although this isn't technically Avery's first Halloween, she didn't dress up last year since she was only a month old (but she did have a cute Halloween outfit). So this year I am so excited to get her all dressed up and go trick-or-treat at the grandparent's houses and a couple close friends. We just got her costume, she's going to be a bumblebee. So fun!!
ReplyDeleteThose are adorable. I am trying to get Little Man a costume but he says no to all of them. Coming over from Wednesday Window.
