Flashback Friday

One year ago last month, we were in Charleston, SC.  Soaking up the sun (or for Niall, soaking up the shade under the umbrella), dunking little pale toes into the "ruffles" of the ocean, and digging through the sand.

 

Even the flight was great-- I'm not sure if Niall thought so, but I was pretty happy about the extra seat that popped up next to us...

It was so great that we've made a tradition out of it and we're going again this Easter week.

Tomorrow, by 2 pm, I will be spreading out my beach towel on a soft pile of sand with an 80 degree gentle breeze drifting over my face.  It can't come fast enough.

But here's the weird part.  Niall was 4 months old when we were there last year.  Not too much activity on his part-- mostly sleeping and being held.  Now, it will be so much more fun, with a walking (running) energetic little ball of excitement. 

I can't wait to see what 17 month old Niall thinks about the beach this time around.  If it's anything like his feelings toward exploring wood piles in the back yard, I think we're in good shape.

Happy 17 month birthday to Niall today, by the way!  Wow, time flies.
