Big for his britches

Brendan has finally decided to start walking (2 months after his first steps), and I have to say, even though I've already experienced the whole baby walking thing with Niall, it is still somehow just as exciting-- maybe even a little more.  I think the anticipation of Brendan teasing us for so long, followed by the cuteness of Niall trying to hold his hand and help him just takes it to the next level.

Now that Brendan has tasted that sweet nectar of freedom, he's really off.  It's like he could only take a couple steps one day, and then the next he could run across a football field without blinking.  Well, it's more like a "waddling-sprint-trip-n-fall," but let's not get caught up in the technicalities.  And he has no fear whatsoever.

He was happy to take on the challenge of walking around "playtown" at the mall with a dozen kids running past him full speed, and he's confident that walking down steps should be no different than walking on a flat surface... so he decided to try that, too.  Luckily, it was just one step :)

It only becomes a problem when we need to sit still, like say a place where I would like to take 5 minutes to shove some food down my throat before B freaks out that we aren't moving fast enough.

Just when the first kid gets to the point where he will sit quietly and happily through a meal at a restaurant, now its the other one who won't cooperate.  Although I have to admit, cookies do help the process go a little smoother.  What can ya do...

Cookies and iPhones...

So here he is, my little boy all 'growed up'  :)
